What To Expect
Disclaimer: This position is expected to start around May or June 2024 and continue through the entire Summer and Fall 2024 term (December.) We ask for a minimum of 24 weeks at 40 hours per week, for this internship. Please consider before applying.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. Again, please do not apply until you know you can work 40 hours per week. This is required for external applicants. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You'll Do
Support the policy team by summarizing and analyzing regulatory filings, developing briefings, researching legislation, and managing complex, cross-functional projectsAssist with the development of new policy and business initiativesOpportunity to develop capstone project on priority charging or energy policy issueWork with internal teams to get cross-functional input, and advise on public policy developmentsCollaborate with external stakeholders to amplify public policy prioriities
This internship will provide opportunities to work with the North American Public Policy & Business Development Team on policy and business development, market analysis, and strategic engagement at the state and local level. You will be part of a team responsible for creating and implementing the company’s electric vehicle charging and energy regulatory and legislative strategies. This includes work on utility programs, equipment standards, permitting and local codes, fleet electrification, and medium-and-heavy duty charging, with an opportunity to learn and grow, working across the team to support its full range of efforts.
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a graduate degree in relevant field such as Political Science, Public Policy, Technology Policy, International Studies, or related fields with a focus on energy and sustainabilityDirect EV charging or energy policy experience within government and/or relevant nonprofits, public interest groups or industry associations is preferredExperience and understanding of the federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory process from prior work and academic experience.Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with experience successfully managing multiple complex, cross-functional projects simultaneouslyAble to make a 6-month commitment at minimumHigh level research and writing abilities
