Purpose
- The primary purpose of this role is the education training of Hyundai and Genesis dealership technicians in the operation, diagnostic strategies, and proper repair of vehicle systems by facilitating Service Technical Training classes at the Region Training Center. This position’s success is measured by Fixed-Right-First- Time performance.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare workshop and vehicles for experiential learning.
- Facilitate training workshops for dealership technicians, with the goal of improving diagnosis and repair competency and Fixed-Right-First-Time scores.
- Ensure Regional Training Facility, tools, student guides, literature, vehicles, are properly maintained.
- Conduct virtual training workshops using Zoom.
- Verify learners’ understanding of the subject matter using competency-based training.
- Identify additional training needs based on learners’ feedback and assessment of skills.
- Maintain attendee training records in learning portal.
- Collaborate regularly with Corporate, Regional, and Dealership team members to accomplish Corporate, Regional, and training department goals,
- Perform light to medium lifting requirements in repair shop operation management.
- Ability to travel and train at additional locations, as required.
- Assist Corporate Training staff in the development of technical training curriculum as required.
- Assist Regional Training Manager with scheduling for effective coverage of curriculum.
- Continually enhance technical instructional facilitation skills, technical knowledge of Hyundai/Genesis vehicle systems, and diagnostic technology

Authority
- As a key HMA image builder to Hyundai dealership technicians, this individual is expected to exercise discretion in presenting Technical and Non-technical materials using creativity to match each class’s attendees needs while fulfilling all HMA requirements for the training.
- This role requires the performance of work directly related to management and/or general business operations.
- The exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance is required.
Education
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
Related Experience
- Five or more years of work experience in automotive technical repair and diagnostics. Three or more years of work experience training OEM dealership technicians is preferred.
- Classroom presentation experience.
- Training program attendance is a plus.
Skills/Knowledge
- Excellent adult education/classroom presentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full understanding of automotive systems.
- Shop management skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) a plus
- Knowledge and skill in developing effective presentations using PC software such as PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience preparing classrooms, workshops, and vehicles for classroom instruction learning.
- Ability to read, interpret and explain mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Knowledge and experience with repair of automotive systems used in Hyundai and Genesis vehicles a plus.
- Ability to deliver Bilingual Spanish classes preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with electric vehicle technology a plus.
Certification
- Professional Certification (OEM Master Technician or ASE Master technician)
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

$69,300.00 - $99,000.00 Annual
