What To Expect
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician Supervisor leads a large team of skilled NPI Engineering Technicians supporting product launches at Tesla’s Energy Manufacturing facilities including Solar Panels, Charging, and Residential products – all of the things that make Tesla unique. The NPI Technician Supervisor works with a diverse cross-functional team supporting every phase of Tesla’s product development lifecycle, including hand-building low volume engineering trials, executing extended product validation builds, validating equipment and process readiness for production launch, and training production teams as products launch. Successful candidates will demonstrate superior leadership and communication skills; a background in low volume, high variability production; and an excellent work ethic.
What You'll Do
Build a strong, motivated team capable of consistently delivering high quality results against aggressive product development targetsAllocate NPI technicians across multiple sites and shifts that have technical requirements, understand and determine priority with various competing program prioritiesMaintain and track teams KPI’s, forecast headcount needs based on current and future programsWork cross-functionally with program teams to ensure aggressive project milestones are achievedDevelop hiring, training, and career progression plans for given team, while increasing individual skillsetsDrive high standards in safety, quality, innovation, collaboration, teamwork, and trustworthinessDrive Objective and Key Results (OKR) initiatives, ensure technicians meet build timelines and objectives
What You'll Bring
Associate's Degree or higher preferred (Engineering degree is a plus)5+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment3+ years managing teams of people in a production environmentExperience in process development and equipment bring-upKnowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principlesSuccessfully managed teams in a technical environment and experience selecting and developing new team membersAbility to develop and maintain performance metrics

Expected Compensation
$68,000 - $168,300/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
