Field Service Technician!
Shell Recharge Solutions is looking for a Field Service Technician to help ensure our stations are always looking and operating at their best. This job entails traveling daily throughout your region as you will be traveling to Shell Recharge Solutions stations every day of the work week.
As Field Service Technician, you will serve an essential role not only for Service Operations, but also the overall organization. You will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetics and the uptime of charging stations in your region. You will interact with and train other employees and third-party contractors on our equipment. You will work independently and with a team to prioritize and schedule your work. This is an opportunity to make a major impact in a company that is shaping the future of transportation.
This position will report to the Field Technician Manager.
What You’ll Do
- Commission new stations, confirming that they are operating to specification and that construction quality meets guidelines
- Perform minor repairs to the exterior of stations (replace instructional stickers, cord hangers/cable management) that will require use of basic tools (screwdrivers, etc.)
- Perform basic work on the interior of stations which includes troubleshooting and swapping out low voltage components (such as routers and computers), as well as some technology work such as firmware upgrades on individual components
- Field test new hardware technology for product development
- Clean the stations to ensure they are immaculate and meet the expectations of the station media sponsors
- With timeliness and quality, record activities in Salesforce and other software systems Shell Recharge Solutions uses
- Serve as a Shell Recharge Solutions brand ambassador as the most visible contact for the partners hosting our stations (such as the store manager) as well as with drivers you encounter throughout the day
- Develop proficiency in basic tasks of preventative maintenance, Proof of Performance photos (POPs), and troubleshooting, completing tasks on time, with satisfactory response and resolution times.
- Be the primary owner of the “look and feel” of Shell Recharge Solutions stations in your region
What We’re Looking For
Basic Qualifications
- High school (or equivalent) degree
- Ability to lift 60 pounds and climb an approximately 3-foot ladder
- Experience or training in high voltage electrical systems, radio/antenna technology, and computer networking is a plus
- Proficiency with computers (laptop, mobile, tablet) and the ability to run reports, manage a queue of work-orders, proactively identify issues and self-dispatch
- Self-starter who can plan ahead to maximize a day, while remaining flexible to adapt to priority items that may arise
- Strong verbal communications skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Enthusiasm to work outside all day in varying elements based on time of year and daily weather conditions
- Comfort with basic hand tools
- A valid driver's license and insurance are required
- You possess your own vehicle, and Shell Recharge Solutions will reimburse mileage at the federal rate
