What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Software/Mechanical/Electrical/ Engineer to contribute to the continuous improvement of Manufacturing Test Equipment at Gigafactory 2 in Buffalo, NY. Primarily, they will aid in the improvement, optimization, and maintenance of test equipment for the Super Charging and Residential Energy lines that operate within the factory. Additional responsibilities include supporting test equipment debugging tasks, continuous improvement of legacy test equipment and supporting hand over of new test equipment from the manufacturing development team. What You'll Do
Maintain LabVIEW, Python, TestStand, and Golang production test softwareGenerate user interfaces (GUI’s) as well as troubleshooting tools to improve the diagnostic capability of existing production test softwareOptimize automated processes to minimize cycle time and maximize uptimeValidate equipment using data-driven statistical approaches (such as Gage R&R, and Cpk)Design and layout industrial electrical control panels which are NFPA79/NEC/UL508A compliant, and create electrical, pneumatic and fluid schematicsDevelop test plans according to test procedures and specificationsProvide on-site support for test equipment deploymentCreate troubleshooting and maintenance documents for testersWork with a team of Technicians to acquire new instruments and build fixtures to aid in verifying factory test equipment is operating correctlyThe ideal candidate takes pride in their hands-on work, analytical ability, organizational skills and attention to detail. What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, or the equivalent relevant experience2+ years of experience as a hands-on Manufacturing Test Software EngineerExperience commissioning test equipment, and root causing tester vs product issuesExperience working with and debugging common communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, GPIB, etc.)Experience with software version-control using one of the following tools: SVN, Git, or GitHubExposure to data analytics using MySQL, and MS SQLFamiliarity with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN and SolidWorksFamiliarity with electronic circuits. Experience with high voltage environments is preferred but not requiredUnderstanding of three phase electrical systems, and power conversion electronics is a plusWillingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

Expected Compensation
$68,000 - $255,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
