You will be leading the analysis, simulation and measurement of high frequency signals generated in LV & HV power electronic systems. Responsible for developing and implementing cost effective solutions such as passive filters, chokes, resistive snubbers, to attenuate high frequency interaction in inverter, motor and HV cabling. Optimize capacitor layout and busbar design.
This is a hybrid position, but you must be onsite 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Build circuit models to estimate frequency generation and propagation in LV and HV circuits
- Design next generation power electronic converters for electrified vehicles.
- Identify topology, design, and build CM and DM inductive chokes, decoupling capacitors, magnetic cores.
- Develop advanced filtering solutions and integrate it with power module, busbar, PCB.
- Identify topology, design, and build CM and DM inductive chokes, decoupling capacitors, and magnetic cores.
- Meet cost, volume, efficiency, and attenuation targets for filter designs.
- Effectively communicate results by writing technical reports, invention disclosures and present data to management.
- HV bus bar design, layout and integration with DC links capacitor, passive filters, power modules
- Support technical interaction with experts from inverter control, low voltage circuit designers, power electronics and electric machines
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of research/industry experience in fields of architectural design, simulation, and manufacturing of high-power filters for power electronic systems.
- 3+ years in at least 3 of the following areas (coursework, internships, Research and Co-ops included)
- Experience in electric circuit simulation of power electronic converters to estimate the magnitude and phase of noise generation.
- Expertise in circuit parameter extraction and transfer function, from CAD models and measurement of electric systems.
- Practical experience in designing filters, chokes, and snubbers to attenuate noise generation and propagation in electric drive systems.
