Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll and taxes
- Lead year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements that will allow Zero to scale its operations in the US and internationally
- Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Implement accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial and tax regulations and comply with GAAP while supporting efficient business operation
- Monitor and evaluate accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization and engage cross-functionally to implement it
- Oversee equity administration
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
- Develop staff by setting goals, providing ongoing coaching, managing performance and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
- Will be the technical GAAP subject matter expert on most complex/critical areas
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a supervisory role
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Preferred:
- EV and/or manufacturing industry experience
- SAP experience
- Start-up experience
- CPA designation

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time to perform duties, and to move around and make inquiries from other staff, management as needed.
- Must be able to bend or stoop down to access files, including lifting of items or objects up to 10 lbs.
