Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for a detail oriented and experienced
BIW Dimensional Control Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the precision and accuracy of the manufacturing processes within the Body-in-White (BIW) department, contributing to the overall quality and excellence of our products.

- Develop and implement dimensional control plans to ensure the accuracy and precision of Body-in-White (BIW) manufacturing processes.
- Conduct detailed measurements and inspections of components, assemblies, and fixtures using precision tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain quality standards for dimensional accuracy.
- Analyze measurement data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to address deviations from specified tolerances.
- Work closely with product engineering teams to optimize processes and ensure dimensional control requirements are met.
- Utilize coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), laser trackers, and other metrology tools to perform accurate inspections.
- Provide support for root cause analysis and resolution of dimensional control-related issues.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure the quality of supplied components and materials.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's Degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Dimensional Control Engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment, with a focus on Body-in-White (BIW) processes.
- Proficiency in using metrology tools, including CMMs, laser trackers, and other precision measurement devices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex dimensional data.
- Experience with statistical analysis and process optimization for dimensional control.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail oriented with a focus on precision and quality in dimensional control processes.
