JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for inspection during the manufacturing process, monitoring the production quality and ensuring that each bus is built properly according to specifications.
- Responsible for examining materials for quality and identifying defects. Ensures that people, equipment, and materials are used property to maximize productivity.
- Checks parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes on the bus against the specifications on the drawing to ensure they meet designated specifications.
- Documents all problems/errors found in drawings, bills of materials, jigs, equipment, processes, etc., and reports these to the appropriate department for corrections.
- Maintains the documented rejection list, following up on open items until they are fixed and can be closed.
- Ensures quality of manufactured products.
- Examines materials from suppliers before sending them to the production line.
- Inspects components, subassemblies, assemblies, and completed bus.
- Tests, measures, and analyzes products using appropriate tools, e.g. tape measure, calipers, and gages.
- Records pass/fail grades of products.
- Produces detailed inspection reports.
- Keeps a clean and safe working environment and optimizes space utilization.
- Pays attention to detail.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Performs parts/materials and assembly inspections correctly per applicable Bill of Materials (BOM) and work instructions.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Skills Required:
- High school diploma or GED. 1+ years of related experience.
- Must read/write/speak English.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Familiar with metric measurement systems.
- Familiar with using Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with using a torque wrench.
- Must have demonstrated communication skills and ability to work with individuals in a congenial and cooperative manner.
- May be required to work overtime on short or no notice to complete projects or assist production, customers, or engineers.
- Must demonstrate ability in reviewing and initiating Non-Conformance procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiar with inspection acceptance and rejection criteria for Welding, Riveting, and Sika sealing process.
- Familiar with reading airline and wiring schematics.
- Familiar with chassis, suspension assembly, undercoating, and paint processes.
- Familiar with paint identifying paint defects, runs, orange peel, fish eyes, etc.
- Familiar with paint inspection using thickness gauge, scratch test, and spray-off panels.
- Familiar with Air Leak, Dyno Water, Brake Stop, and Road Testing.
- Familiar with identifying Air Valves.
- Familiar with Dimension Requirements Inspection. Familiar with Air/Brake System Audit.
- Familiar with Propulsion System Performance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a high level of noise and hot or cold temperature ranges typical of working in a production area. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. May be exposed to caustic fluids and fumes. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
