The role of Senior Accountant will be essential in the Company’s financial reporting and monthly close process. This position will sit on the accounting team and will report directly to the Controller.
Location
This role is open to be 100% remote or a hybrid role out of one of our offices (Mountain View, CA, San Diego, CA or New York, NY.)
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, update or create supporting schedules for month-end close.
- Serve as lead contact for financial statement audit requests including coordinating and organizing responses, providing explanations, and gathering information as needed
- Project billing and cost review, support project PM on actual vs. forecast variance analysis
- Perform subledger reconciliation and maintain general ledger with appropriate documentation monthly
- Prepare sales tax filings and coordinate annual tax return documentation requests
- Work closely with AP team, book job cost and admin expense accruals for the close
- Inventory reconciliation and accounting
- IC reconciliation on monthly basis
- Support Controller with process improvement and internal control initiatives
- Perform other accounting duties and supporting staff as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields
- 5+ years of corporate accounting experience. Public accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Understanding of accounting principles under US GAAP. Preference to experience with multi-entity consolidations and contract revenue recognition.
- Proficiency with accounting ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to take full ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Excellent communicator with strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail
CompensationThe pay range for this position is $86,400 - $105,600 annually. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable). PowerFlex's compensation packages carefully consider a candidate's qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.
Physical RequirementsRemaining in a seated position. Long hours on computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
Working Conditions Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Possibly 10% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings.
