Responsibilities
The Opportunity
The Director, FNV4 System Integration, reporting to the Executive Director of Platform Architecture and Prototyping, is responsible for the following:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic vision for systems integration within our automotive platforms, driving alignment with business goals and technical objectives.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of systems integration engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Platform Architecture: Define and maintain the architecture and design principles for our automotive software platforms, ensuring scalability, modularity, and flexibility.
- Integration Planning: Develop integration plans and roadmaps for software components and subsystems, identifying dependencies, interfaces, and integration points.
- Interoperability Testing: Establish rigorous testing processes and procedures to validate the interoperability of software components and subsystems, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
- Performance Optimization: Collaborate with performance engineering teams to optimize system performance, resource utilization, and response times across the platform.
- Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and compliance standards to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of automotive software systems.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners, ensuring alignment with platform requirements and quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance systems integration capabilities, leveraging feedback from internal stakeholders and industry best practices.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other engineering teams, including software development, hardware engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of software components with hardware platforms.
Qualifications
Functional & Technical Knowledge
The Minimum Requirements We Seek
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a focus on systems integration and automotive platform architecture.
- Proven track record of leadership in systems integration, with experience managing large-scale engineering teams and complex projects.
- Expert in vehicle systems
- Experience in connectivity, IVI and ADAS
- Deep technical expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and integration technologies.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and platforms, including embedded software, operating systems, middleware, and networks
- Deep understanding of validation processes and quality metrics.
- Proven experience in establishing system integration processes in large scale distributed systems.
Our Preferred Requirements
- Masters degree preferred.
- Experience in implementing embedded systems including for safety critical embedded systems.
- Experience of embedded Linux, RTOS and related DevOps systems.
- Demonstrated time in role leading a large multi-disciplined organization focused on delivering development efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills both up and down the organization to achieve the desired results.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated examples of applying systemic thinking, logic and reasoning skills to be able to identify opportunities, alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
- Organizational skill: Strong collaboration skills, clear and concise direction coupled with an ability to move within the organization to complete work and balance tradeoffs.
- Strategic thinking: Demonstrated examples of driving strategy from concept through to production.
