Position OverviewNavistar is seeking a Charging System Feature Owner for its BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) platforms. A feature owner is the single point technical expert on their assigned feature and is responsible for the development of system requirements, oversee the end-to-end implementation, verification of the feature/function in production.
Responsibilities- Work with other Navistar engineers to design, implement and validate an overall electric vehicle charging strategy.
- Implement charging features and functions via system requirements that are consistent with relevant industry charging standards.
- Oversee/guide the implementation and verification of the feature/function, as well as field issue resolution
- The management of the charging system includes, but is not limited:
- Charge port
- Charge indicator
- Charging system software
- EVCC software
- Energy storage systems
- High voltage distribution
- Moding system
- Torque safety system
- Serve as the point-of-contact from the ePowertrain team to other Navistar interfaces and suppliers
- Participate in industry-wide charging events to improve charging interoperability and user experience for the end customer
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 5 years of experience in product design/development
OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 3 years of experience in product design/development
OR
- PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Additional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills- Experience working in a rapid-prototyping and development environment, such as:
- MATLAB/Simulink
- Vector Tools - CANalyzer/CANoe/CAPL scripting
- C++
- INCA
- Requirements tools – such as Polarion or DOORS
- Holistic EV experience; such as HV Powertrains, Energy Management, Charging Systems
- Relentless problem-solving skills, including areas outside of areas of expertise
- Willingness to
- Hands-on capabilities, such as low/high voltage wiring, CAN debugging, basic electrical tools
- Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) charging experience preferred, but not required
- Project management experience preferred, but not required
