The Field Quality Technician will support the Field Quality Engineering Team. The Quality Technician will use test equipment to evaluate and investigate components. This position will work with cross-functional teams to improve Zoox products. The technicians will use their technical background to perform failure analysis on vehicles and at the bench, record their findings, and communicate critical information to the cross-functional team.

In this role, you will:

- Review JIRA tickets for correct and complete data, update tickets accordingly with relevant information pertaining to investigations
- Receive field return components into inventory
- Perform failure analysis to troubleshoot returned components by using mechanical and electrical lab equipment.
- Read technical drawings and CAD models to understand parts and assemblies
- Communicate with cross-functional teams and participate in meetings and activities to discuss findings and improve products
- Create and update testing documentation, maintenance records, and work instructions

Qualifications

- Ability to read technical drawings and understand CAD models
- Ability to use lab equipment for failure analysis
- Ability to create documentation for testing and rework instruction
- Willing/able to travel up to 25% of the time locally & within the U.S. on an as-needed basis

Bonus Qualifications

- Desired A.S./B.S. in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 2 to 5 years of experience
- Automotive, EV, or Aerospace experience
- Experience in building test equipment

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $98,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
