Position OverviewThe Navistar San Antonio Manufacturing Plant is a benchmark facility that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles to meet the needs of today’s – and tomorrow’s – customers. By using proven engineering and leading technology and manufacturing principles, Navistar takes mobility and transport to a new level of impact. This facility has the flexibility to build Class 6-8 trucks along with Electric Vehicles that allow Navistar to add capacity to support anticipated industry growth. Using the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected manufacturing principles, Navistar's newest manufacturing facility will continue growing our market share gains, optimizing our supplier network and improving quality.
We are currently seeking General Assembly Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to join our team!
The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor role directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. Develops schedules and workforce requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Plant production hours are Mon - Thurs 5:30AM – 4:00PM with production recovery Fridays as needed.
Responsibilities- Drive safety improvements, behaviors and a strong culture of safety in the General Assembly
- Responsible for leading and supervising up to 30 hourly employees in the general assembly.
- Drive to quality and production performance metrics
- Allocate staffing and coverage, foresee production issues and diminish down-time
- Communicate across multiple functions including engineering, quality, supply chain and other production departments in the manufacturing plant to ensure production goals are met
- Develop and maintain standard work instructions
- Ensure employees are heard, ideas are shared, and drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Support problem resolution, root cause analysis and corrective action tracking and sustainment
- Lead by example with the TRATON core values
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of production/manufacturing experience
OR
- Master’s degree
- At least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience
OR
- At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience
Additional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Auto or heavy truck manufacturing experience

- Ability to lead teams to improve safety and efficiency
- Continuous or background experience
- Able to work both in an indoor and outdoor setting
- Ability to work overtime to meet business needs
