What To Expect
As a Reliability Engineer for Tesla’s Dojo supercomputer, you will play a key role in designing reliability into the low voltage electronic systems of Dojo. As a successful candidate, you will follow the reliability lifecycle of the product from concept to design, development, manufacturing, field operation to design-in, confirm and grow exceptional reliability at every stage. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to validate our ground-breaking hardware and ensure our high reliability standards are met. The level of this position will be determined at the time of the interview.
What You'll Do
Facilitate and lead design FMEA sessions to assess product risks, determine validation test plans and drive reliable design choices Analyze field usage and environmental conditions to optimize requirement setting and test methodsApply solid knowledge of reliability methods and low voltage systems to design accelerated test plans for design validation and demonstration of reliability growthFacilitate failure analysis to identify root cause and drive resolution for failures originating in testing and in the fieldWork with manufacturing quality, service engineering, supplier quality and design teams to facilitate field failure resolution Provide reliability design guidelines and apply reliability lessons learned to enable continuous improvement
What You'll Bring
2+ years of experience working in a low-voltage (LV) laboratory testing environment (including relevant internship or academic lab work experience)In-depth understanding of low voltage electronics and expertise in developing associated characterization/validation testing methods PCB Board level experience with the ability to read and communicate PCBA schematics, etcMaster’s or PhD degree in Reliability Engineering, or ASQ Certified Reliability EngineerKnowledge of the ReliaSoft Synthesis Platform, including Weibull++, BlockSim, ALTA, RGA. Reliability growth techniques, such as Crow-AMSAA and Crow Extended Knowledge of reliability warranty analysis and reliability prediction methodsUnderstanding of fleet reliability monitoring metrics and reliability KPIsKnowledge of database structures and practical understanding and use of SQL. Experience in working with large data sets. Experience with Tableau for big data analytics. 'Working knowledge of applied statistics and experience with statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, etc Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning and EDX Strong problem-solving skills and thorough understanding of sophisticated electrical test setupsRemain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances. Own assignments and take full accountability for their success, with the ability to change direction quickly

Expected Compensation
$84,000 - $276,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
