What To Expect
We are looking for a talented Industrial Engineer who can combine systems thinking with technical knowledge to lead the development of simulation models and processes to improve facility layouts. This role will require the use of simulation tools to quantitatively assess current operational performance and facility layouts to enable data-driven decision-making, and execute changes to reduce cost, optimize throughput, and develop standards across various Service facility types. This role demands excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork with the ability to prioritize needs amongst multiple stakeholders while aligning technical solutions with business goals.
What You'll Do
Develop and deploy simulation models and algorithms for various Service focused facility types that integrate vehicle flow, material flow, tooling operations, and peopleApply simulations to validate real world projects and identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities for facility layoutsCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including field technicians, Structural, MEP, Fire Engineers, Architects, and Construction Managers to identify operational bottlenecks and opportunities, and translate requirements into technical solutions, while ensuring seamless tool integrationContinuously refine tools and models by incorporating feedback, monitoring performance, and staying current with industry innovations and best practicesCreate audit tools and propose and execute enhancements to systems and operationsDesign and modify facility layouts to optimize for workflow, safety, and efficiencyApply industrial engineering principles such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization to improve simulation performance, operational processes, and facility layoutsTravel to sites to conduct assessments, feasibility studies, and gather feedback to improve tools and processesEnsure compliance with building codes, and ADA regulationsDevelop architectural plans, construction documents, and 3D models using BIM software
What You'll Bring
Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Architecture, or related field, with experience in simulations, operations research, optimization techniques, and data visualization tools, or equivalent experience5+ years as an Industrial Engineer or in a related role with expertise in capacity planning, operations management, and optimizing facility layouts. Experience in the Automotive industry is a plusExperience with simulation tools is required. Strong preference for Flexsim, Anylogic or other related softwareExperience with Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD is requiredExperience with SQL, Python and data visualization tools (ie. Tableau, PowerBI)Experience in architecture, engineering, and construction, with general knowledge of building systems and codes is a strong plusExceptional problem-solving skills with experience in industry methodologies: A3, 8D, ATS, MODAPTS, continuous improvement (Lean/ Six Sigma), and change managementStrong positive attitude, sense of urgency, and ability to meet role requirements, with excellent interpersonal, leadership, and attention to detail skillsAdvanced MS Office skills, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, SimFlex, and other analytics and visualization tools are a plus
