What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and deeply process oriented Logistics Analyst to join our growing supply chain team. In the Logistics Analyst role, you will manage critical domestic and international shipments to support Tesla’s vehicle production, service and energy distribution, and everything in between. The role requires problem solving skills, ability to collaborate cross-functionally and willingness to go the extra mile and work outside a regular 9-5 schedule.
What You'll Do
Coordinate most cost-effective means to import/export goods within expected requirements. Provide all required documentation (Letter of credit, Ocean Bill of Lading, Service Report Log, etc.) for import and export functionsCoordinate and direct local milk runs with internal drivers, dedicated external fleets or partners, identifying opportunities to reduce cost by consolidating material from different routes into oneMaintain close communication with carriers and report incidents, and track KPI’s during OIL calls with carriers, collaborating on process improvement initiatives and systematic enhancementsContribute to a worldwide logistics organization by standardizing processes and establishing SOPs, which requires negotiation and alignment with suppliers and transportation companies, as well as internal teams for optimal order quantity and frequencyIssue statistical or detailed reporting for stakeholders as requested, using SQL to retrieve data from the backend and working with BI to develop dashboards as requiredProcess and correct miscellaneous accounting issues to ensure timely payment to carriers, and work on improvements of processes on this area to reduce the time needed to complete tasks and outstanding invoices due to discrepancies in executionNegotiate spot and transactional business with suppliers and monitor performance in collaboration with procurement. Also provide input, such as volume forecast, carrier scorecard, customer service performance, to start RFQ/RFP processes in partnership with procurement
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing logistics, supply chain or related fieldDG Certifications, preferredKnowledge of SQL and Tableau, preferredKnowledge of freight forwarding terms and standards and IncotermsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership
