What To Expect
The Tesla Raw Materials team is looking for an experienced and strongly motivated Global Supply Manager who will be responsible for supporting the growth of Tesla’s programs globally. The GSM will lead a metals (ferrous or non-ferrous) commodity and be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for the commodity. The GSM is responsible for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 relationships and as such be the main driver of the sourcing, negotiating and executing processes. The GSM will work closely with the Tier 1 GSMs, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Planners and Technical Program Managers to ensure that sourcing requirements are met, contracts are set-up in a timely manner, cost savings opportunities are aggressively pursued and that any eventual risk to the supply chain is communicated and mitigated in time.
What You'll Do
Project manage the metal commodity globally for all sustaining and new program launchesProvide guidance to and manage the metal commodity GSM team membersLead the sourcing efforts at the Tier 3 level, including putting together RFQs and sourcing proposals and present them to upper managementNegotiate and execute pricing and general terms agreements and facilitate the engagement of legal teamsDevelop a deep understanding of the commodity market drivers, cost structure, industry trends and competitive landscapeOversee the capacity constraints of the selected suppliers and ensure business requirements are met regularly to keep a continuous and risk-free supplyContinuously drive efforts for cost reduction opportunities and strategical improvements that would challenge the status quoDevelop clear indicators and maintain project dashboards to keep track of progress and status and to communicate key action items to all relevant stakeholdersEnsure that project milestones are met, and potential delays and risks are avoided in time through a thorough due diligence of the systems set up to track the progress of projectsKeep track of any changes of direction at the design, material or supply chain strategy level and ensure these are correctly communicated within all teamsProvide management with information on project development and individual performance when requested
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering field is required, and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability. Master’s/MBA preferred.5+ years of hands-on procurement or supply chain management experience in a fast-paced and diverse environment, preferably with experience in metal commodity managementExperience managing stakeholders in a cross-functional settingDemonstrated ability to manage short deadlines and take decisions with limited informationExcellent presentation skills and ability to work across multiple teams and their leadershipA natural drive for negotiationsDetail-oriented, self-starter, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities across multiple projectsExcellent written and verbal communication skills requiredDemonstrated ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers/suppliersDemonstrated ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment and drive people towards common objectiveExcellent computer proficiencies in Word, Excel and Outlook (Power BI, VBA and SQL are a plus)

Expected Compensation
$72,000 - $264,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
