Position OverviewNavistar's Research and Development team is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Test Engineer with experience in system level testing to support vehicle development. This role is based out of our WHQ, in Lisle, IL and can involve up to 25% travel at our engineering facilities across the US.
The experienced engineer in this role will be responsible for the system testing of different Navistar vehicle platforms which is comprised of BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle) & ICEV (Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle). The responsibility in this role spans across all chassis modules that are part of the integrated operation. The individual will be responsible for system testing within Navistar modules supporting modularity across our model offerings. Familiarity with ICE and BEV subsystems such as the battery thermal, propulsion, torque & energy management is highly desired. Candidate should be flexible to work on vehicle propulsion systems (i.e.: BEV, ICEV & FCEV) as needed.
Responsibilities- Test functionality as listed in program Functional Objectives
- Wholistically review the vehicle module implementation and ensure failures/components are functional to the appropriate level for the configured features
- Collaborate with software and controls teams in design reviews and provide feedback based on program requirements with a focus on system test and integration
- Draft test procedures and reports in support of vehicle level system testing for all applicable chassis/vehicle modules
- Troubleshoot integration issues during development, validation, and production
- Draft and review system level documentation with regards to vehicle function
- Performs data analysis & reports results
- Visualize data using software tools for effective communication of the problem to management
- Utilizes templates for plotting all test data and analyze test data to draw conclusions
- Maintains plotted data and calibration settings for tests in pre-designated location
- Document conclusions & summaries in report or presentation format and conducts data reviews/summaries with team
- Documents significant issues & resolutions via standard channels
- Provides any potential design change recommendations through formal report with supporting data
- Assist in the system testing of electric and internal combustion engines powertrain
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
- At least 8 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities

- Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
- At least 6 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
- PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
- At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities

- Become proficient with the tools used for diagnostic calibration development, data analysis, and understanding the control system(s) such as:
- INCA, Matlab/Simulink, Python, CANalyzer, PowerBI, etc.
- Utilize established engineering practices and software to document workflow and track calibration updates via change control process
- CCR (calibration change request), Cal compare, DVP&R, FMEA
- On site Engineering prototype build and support
- Possesses or willing to acquire a commercial driver’s license (CDL)
