Position OverviewAs a Technical Service Engineering Consultant for Zero Emmission Vehicles (ZEV) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) you will be responsible managing complex product issues to resolution, as the project lead and assist in identifying root cause and corrective actions for Medium and Heavy Duty Electric Vehicles.
This is an engineering and technical role working with our dealer network to understand repair issues arising within our customers’ vehicles, working with engineering to identify a solution for trucks in both post and pre-production to ensure maximum uptime for our customers.
Main areas of responsibility will be the development of services solutions and advanced diagnostics for Electric Vehicles
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but not limited to:
- Research, develop and implement service repair plans for Electric vehicles in the field
- Ensure deep technical understanding of current products planned or released in the North American market
- Issue resolution, tackling complex technical challenges, utilizing your expertise along with internal and external resources
- Present and report status to upper-level management of activities and issues
- Provide effective resolution of dealer and fleet complaints
- Write technical reports and develop advanced diagnostics
- Service Solutions liaison between Quality, R&D, Customer Support along with other internal and external groups
- Actively involved in Project Management activities
- Select, direct, and coordinate activities of service organization to maintain high level of
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of technical service engineering, automotive service or truck service experience
OR
- Master’s degree
- At least 3 years of technical service engineering, automotive service or truck service experience
OR
- At least 7 years of technical service engineering, automotive service or truck service experience
Additional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills- Profound understanding of electric vehicle systems, components, and diagnostic methods
- Strong aptitude for problem solving along with a proactive and solutions orientated mindset
- Enthusiasm for sustainable transportation contributing to the advancement of electric vehicle technology
- Medium and/or Heavy-Duty truck experience
- Excellent presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills
- Approachable with excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively across diverse teams
- Able to operate with a minimum of supervision and with an ownership mindset
- Ability to manage risk and escalate project issues when appropriate
- Ability to multitask and manage quickly changing objectives and priorities\
- Familiarity with VisMockUp, CAD, Teamcenter or other engineering drawing systems
- ASE Certification a plus
- General PC proficiency required (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
