Nikola is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join the Quality department. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for developing quality inspection processes, analyzing quality inspection data, providing product performance feedback to production, coordinating problem-solving with functional departments, tracking defects per unit trends and leading continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Responsibilities- Design and implement quality inspection processes.
- Analyze quality inspection data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Provide feedback and guidance to production teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate problem-solving efforts related to product quality issues.
- Track and monitor defects per unit trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform risk analysis to assembly processes.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality, streamline processes, and reduce defects.
- Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and tools to ensure consistent quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Conduct quality audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and regulations.
- Train and educate employees on quality control processes and techniques.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality management.
Qualifications- Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Automotive or Class 8 Engineering.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical process control.
- Proven analytical problem-solving skills with capability to identify solutions for unusual and complex problems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Advanced degree in Engineering.
- Certification in quality management or Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of APQP and PPAP requirements.
- Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
