What To Expect
We are seeking an Accountant for Tesla Insurance to assist with all aspects of accounting and reporting for the Tesla Insurance Services Auto business. The Accountant will be responsible for assisting with U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting for P&C insurance operations as well as statutory accounting and reporting, as needed. This person will work alongside a team to perform the accurate completion of the team's assignments and be responsible for the thorough execution of accounting close and financial reporting processes in a deadline focused environment.
What You'll Do
Responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closeEstablish, document and perform internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reportingPerform routine and non-routine accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations for multiple areasWork with multiple financial systems and utilize key interfaces and interdependencies extract data for financial reporting needsWork closely with other departments on increasingly complex department projects and continuous improvement activities that may span beyond the scope of own team`s responsibilitiesCoordinate with Risk Management, Actuarial, Treasury, Finance, and other stakeholders on matters related to the insurance entitiesWork closely with Claims and Premiums teams to facilitate timely reporting of information needed to support the close and to compile quarterly and annual internal and external reporting
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalentAdvanced Excel expertise preferredExperience with large-scale accounting systems preferredMust demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions to achieve resultsPossess a solid understanding of accounting principlesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
