What To Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Global Supply Manager to lead Tesla's Facilities and Industrial Services sourcing strategy. This may include preventive & reactive maintenance, paint shop management services, waste & recycling services, etc. across all North America Business Units (Motors, Energy, Solar and Service). This person will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, and delivery performance. The Global Supply Manager builds and leverages strong relationships with key suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The candidate will be a self-starter; eager to learn about Tesla’s Procurement Organization.
What You'll Do
Analyze the category spend (what, where, who) and develop a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces; Identify buyer and supplier power changes within core materials markets and use industry dynamics to Tesla's advantageEvaluate the existing supply base and identify new high-potential suppliers globally; Minimize single-sourced suppliers and create supplier competition; Identify supplier capability and ensure the supply base can support Tesla's growthEffectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing; Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality to strike agreements that meet Tesla's performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuityCollaborate across the Tesla organization to ensure business objectives are met; Includes the ability to synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders rapidly and to identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy activelyContract management experience to draft, review and assess RFI's, RFP's, RFQ's, NDAs, Master Service Agreements (MSA), Statement of Work (SOW), and formal communication before the business initiates, and hold parties accountableDevelop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate on multiple variables to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levelsManage respective supplier relationships and performance with clear KPIs and QBRs, including but not limited to dispute resolutionEvaluate supplier business proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings, avoidance, or containmentDevelop sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliersPerform value analysis for final selection of suppliers, including value add benefits and total cost of ownership; Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, experience, or equivalent10+ years of related experience in procurement, consulting, automotive or tech; Master’s or MBA is a plusAbility to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environmentAbility to make quick decisions with 80% informationWillingness to operate in a dynamic environmentProficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
