What To Expect
The Tesla Robotics Team designs and builds humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot) to perform tasks that are boring, repetitive, or dangerous for humans. The team joins mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team. You will analyze and optimize revolutionary products never executed. You will be brilliant both technically as an individual, and as an active member in a diverse and challenging cross-functional team environment. You will work with other Engineering teams to analyze the performance of future designs and collaborate with Test Engineering to develop tests. You will correlate simulation models and improve the predictive capability of Analysis Engineering team.
What You'll Do
Develop strength and durability FE models for analysis and optimization of Robot structure in collaboration with a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers Challenge established traditional CAE methods and process to improve efficiency and accuracy Support world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses Create, develop and maintain methods (processes, documentation and automation) to improve efficiency and accuracy in modeling as well as delivering results Quickly learn the tools necessary to execute and modify or create new tools as necessary
What You'll Bring
Theoretical knowledge of finite element analysis Understanding of theory in a range of mechanical engineering subjects, including heat transfer, vibrations, control systems Ability to work independently and with others on problems that are unusual or difficult Ability to come up with practical and theoretically sound solutions to problems never encountered Ability to concisely convey technical communication Experience running linear and non-linear static, dynamic, modal, or frequency-based analysis using implicit solvers Experience running Quasi Static or dynamic strength analysis of structures using implicit and explicit solvers Experience with correlating simulation results with physical test results
