What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our growing team. You will work alongside Manufacturing, Equipment, Controls, Test, and Process Engineers to support the development, prototyping, commissioning, and continuous improvement of a wide variety of manufacturing equipment, from product testers, to PLC integrated automation, to pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic integrated systems. You will use your mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge on a daily basis to collaborate with cross-functional team members to help the organization realize its goals of production line commissioning, capacity expansion, safety enhancement, and process improvement. This is a hands-on position working with tools, parts, and production equipment. You will operate both individually and in team dynamics, and must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with all team members.
What You'll Do
Assembly of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic manufacturing equipmentAssembly of prototype equipment for engineering research and developmentRigging, locating, alignment, and leveling of equipment according to engineering layoutsExecute technician tasks independently after initial instruction Collaborate with other technician teams, providing instructions and verifying craftsmanshipDirect interaction with cross-functional engineer teams, escalating issues and suggesting solutions
What You'll Bring
Experience assembling equipment from mechanical engineering drawingsProficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring electrical control panelsExperience installing, wiring, and plumbing common manufacturing devicesWorking knowledge of DC/AC electrical systemsHands-on machining experience including mills, lathes, saws, grinders, etc.Experience rigging, driving forklift, driving scissor lifts, and using pallet jacksAble to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlinesMust have command of the English language, both written and verbal, with exemplary communication skills and meticulous attention to detail

Expected Compensation
$28.80 - $43.44/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
