Your Impact:
The Sales Engineer, Data Center Services Business Division,
is responsible for determining the ideal technical products and services to meet our customers’ business needs. The role will be remote with the ability to work across multiple time-zones as required and play an important strategic role in the growth of the Data Center Services Business Division, expanding penetration to existing accounts and engaging new accounts. The candidate will have strong interaction with external customers and internal stakeholders such as Sales, Business Operations, and Field Operations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assists in pre-sales efforts with sales executives for all Pearce products by understanding our customer’s business and technical needs or challenges.
- Analyze and provide detailed responses for RFI or RFP requests from customers.
- Active participation in customer strategy sessions both internally and externally.
- Provides technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings, and appropriate trade shows
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Data Center Electrical Infrastructure including generators, UPS, power switching, etc.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Data Center Network Infrastructure including carrier landing stations, fiber/copper cabling, patch panels, DWDM optical equipment, etc.
- Ability to travel within North America as required for customer meetings and trade shows.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience
- 5+ years of related sales engineering experience in the data center or telecommunications industry. Architectural understanding of POP electrical infrastructure and/or POP network infrastructure.
- Self-motivated person who can operate independently and in a high growth team environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills – ability to professionally communicate/convey information with all levels of internal and external customers in large groups or small settings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and utilizing various internal portals or systems for analyzing customer data and engineering design data.
- Experience creating, contributing or analyzing business cases as they relate to high CAPEX/OPEX proposals.
- Possesses industry knowledge and familiarity with the industry landscape.
