The Opportunity
The ideal candidate is a skilled and trained certified General Electrician who has graduated from a DIR-recognized apprenticeship and holds a current General Electrician License. This position is full-time and in-person, offering a competitive hourly rate for a standard 8-hour workday, Monday through Friday, with weekend work as needed. As an Electrical Foreman, you will be responsible for leading and managing electrical installation projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and project timelines. Key responsibilities include establishing organizational structure, overseeing project execution, maintaining quality control, managing budgets, and fostering strong client relationships. The company provides a take-home work vehicle, gas card, and tools.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safety-focused culture.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) are completed and signed by all team members.
- Submit Construction Daily Reports for assigned projects.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and control all construction activities for assigned projects, minimizing disruptions to customer operations and employees.
- Manage manpower to meet project schedules and productivity goals.
- Direct day-to-day field operations on multiple projects.
- Provide necessary technical guidance and leadership.
- Maintain strong customer relations and keep project managers informed of project status through daily reporting and weekly meetings.
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills and accurate paperwork processing.
- Have proficient equipment operating skills (forklift, skid loader, etc.).
- Foster excellent crew collaboration during work activities.
- Lead, coach, and mentor construction teams.
- Coordinate subcontractor work activities on all projects.
- Process expenses, time reporting, job pictures, and reports in a timely manner.
- Report and escalate safety-related incidents in a timely manner.
- Update Sitetracker project notes and keep the system up to date.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of experience as an Electrical Foreman on commercial projects and experience as a commercial electrician.
- Certifications: Current California General Electrician certification or Journeyman License with a DIR-recognized apprenticeship graduation.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of the California Electric Code and National Electric Code with proficiency in plan reading and material take-off.
- Equipment Experience: Experience with wire/cable tugger, hydraulic bender, conduit threading machine, and exothermic welding devices.
- Electrical Utility Experience: Experience working with power utilities and in/around live circuits and expertise in installing main service boards, transformers, and load centers.
- Inspection Experience: Experience navigating inspections with leading authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Project Management Experience: Thorough understanding of plan reading and construction scheduling and a track record of timely and budget-conscious project completion.
- Safety-Minded Advocate: Commitment to safety. NFPA CESC knowledge, OSHA 30 Hour, and First Aid/CPR certifications (preferred). Must wear PPE as required.
- Computer-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Leadership Skills: Proven pre-planning, project leadership, and crew management with teams of electricians/apprentices.
- Communication skills: Effective verbal and written communication with team members.
- Other Soft Skills: Highly motivated and results-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

- Travel Readiness/Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to travel outside of the Orange County/LA area as required. Flexibility for various site locations and to work overtime and night shifts as required.
- Reliable Transportation: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, reliable personal transportation, and the ability to maintain continuous auto insurance coverage.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow, work at heights up to 50 feet, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 51 pounds. Good vision (natural or corrected). Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead. Able to procure tools and materials from vendors and storage areas.
