The Opportunity
The ideal candidate will have graduated from a DIR-recognized apprenticeship and hold a current General Electrician License. This role requires the safe delivery of electrical services within the renewable energy sector, specifically electric vehicle charging stations and energy storage systems. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, consistent, and competent electrical construction work, adhering to project, company, and industry standards and procedures, including full system installation, commissioning, maintenance, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting. The position is full-time and in-person, offering competitive hourly rates for an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, with weekend work as needed. The company provides a take-home work vehicle, gas card, and tools.
Responsibilities
- Be reliable and committed to achieving company goals and deadlines.
- Create comprehensive and accurate tool and material lists for projects proficiently.
- Prioritize safety by ensuring all work is completed safely, following instructions, and minimizing risk to personnel and the environment.
- Support electrical installations with other relevant trade skills and versatility.
- Review project plans, specifications, and installation instructions to ensure adherence to approved designs and assist the Foreman.
- Bend various conduit sizes, including EMT, IMC, and rigid conduit.
- Use hand, mechanical, and electric bending tools proficiently.
- Accurately and efficiently execute a range of bends, including offsets, saddles, and 90-degree bends.
- Perform underground PVC installation.
- Utilize heat blankets and hot boxes for PVC installations.
- Conduct thorough site safety assessments, identify hazards, lead daily safety meetings, and complete JHA and LOTO documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of Construction Daily Reports for assigned projects.
- Respond effectively to production issues that arise in the field.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external customers.
- Possess a strong foundation in electrical principles and advanced troubleshooting abilities.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Certification: Possess a valid California General Electrician license or ET Card and be a graduate of a DIR-recognized apprenticeship program.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of the National Electric Code.
- Safety Advocate: Committed to maintaining a safe work environment. OSHA 10 and NFPA CESC certifications are preferred. Must wear PPE as required.
- Relevant Experience: Proven experience in commercial electrical work.
- Equipment Experience: Skilled in operating wire/cable tuggers, hydraulic benders, conduit threading machines, and exothermic welding devices.
- Electrical Utility Experience: Experience working with power utilities and around live circuits and expertise in installing main service boards, transformers, and load centers.
- Reliable Transportation: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, reliable personal transportation, and ability to maintain continuous coverage on company auto insurance plans.
- Flexible Schedule: Flexible to work various site locations and extended hours, including overtime and night shifts, as required.

- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow, work at heights up to 50 feet, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 51 pounds. Good vision (natural or corrected). Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
