Tesla’s Cathode Advanced Manufacturing team is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager, Cost & Optimization to join our team and manage all aspects of the financial planning operations for a novel battery chemical plant, beginning commercial scale production in Austin, TX. You, as the Technical Program Manager, Cost & Optimization, will be part of a growing team where your impact will contribute to laying the foundation for a new chemical manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant financial evaluation and economic forecasting with a technical knowledge of chemical process manufacturing. You will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to the plant operations team, ensuring compliance with all corporate financial policies and procedures, identifying cost improvement opportunities, and providing granular visibility to the financial performance of the plant.
What You'll Do
Provide financial analysis, guidance, and support to steer leadership strategy decisionsPerform quantified economic evaluations of plant expansions and improvement projectsManage financial reporting for the plant, including monthly and annual financial plans and forecastsDevelop and monitor annual operating budgets and forecastsAnalyze financial performance and identify areas for improvementEvaluate and support policy, government, and strategic partnerships in the EV battery space Ensure compliance with all corporate financial policies and proceduresDevelop workflow development for managing plant inventory and fixed assetsWork with corporate tax team to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of financial management experience within the chemical manufacturing industryStrong knowledge of financial management, economic analysis, and accounting principlesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentWillingness to relocate to Austin
