The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art EV charging station solutions. The Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership in creating comprehensive engineering deliverables, including installation drawings, calculations, and specifications. This role requires close collaboration with diverse teams to ensure successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership abilities to drive innovation in electrical design while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of detailed design concepts and construction documents for EV charging infrastructure projects
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects
- Conduct feasibility studies, energy optimization assessments, and power system coordination analysis
- Develop and review technical specifications, material selections, and product research documentation
- Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality assurance protocols
- Perform power system coordination, arc flash hazard analysis, and electrical reliability assessments
- Review shop drawings and prepare RFPs, change orders, and closeout documentation
- Coordinate with construction teams to resolve electrical installation issues
- Ensure compliance with building codes and technical specifications
- Contribute to the firms QA/QC program by reviewing architectural work
- Develop and maintain production standards and best practices
- Conduct site visits and project measurements as needed
- Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in electrical design, planning, and construction services and 1-2 years of EV field experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and industry standards
- Experience with electric vehicle (EV) charging systems
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, or similar)
- Experience designing low and medium-voltage power distribution systems
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple complex projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
